Doc:

Thanks again for all the time you are giving. It gives me the chance to get all these questions out to you!

Hey, I heard you are a big fan of Wonder Words. Can you give me a brief explanation of your view on it?

Every month we are bombarded with dozens of new tricks, at least 6 new video tapes and DVDs, at least a dozen new hardbound books.. we are deluged by new stuff all the time... it is hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

If you are like me, you probably have a pile of stuff on your desk of “fersure gotta learn” tricks. Every time we come back from a convention, we have a new armload of stuff to add to that pile.

I agree with Eugene Burger in that
”we already know enough tricks” ...so with that in mind... how do we make the tricks that we already know better?

One of the only ways that I can think of, is to be aware of the words we use when we present our magic.

Much like Michael Ammar’s Negotiating Higher Performance Fees audio tape (in which he applied already well known negotiating techniques to magic) Kenton has done the same with lingusitics.

It is possible to really turn up the audience reactions with the simple addition of a few linguistic devices and principles.

To me, these audio tapes are the most exciting thing available to us in today’s magic market. The ability to make the tricks that we already have and do present better is a very powerful tool.

Now the pitch... there are three volumes.... each volume has four audio tapes (so for those of you who are deficient in math - there are 12 tapes total...)

Volume 1 is $60.
Volume 2 is $65.
Volume 3 is $75.

I offer all three volumes at $175.

As a Magic Cafe Special... I will sell all three for $165.

If someone wants to try one volume first.... to see what it is all about and then decide to pick up the remaining volumes, I will honor the special price... just remind me upon re-ordering that this is the deal...

Does anyone out there have any feedback on these tapes? Has anyone listened to them?

What do you think?

I just ordered the tapes last week through my local dealer and should have them any day. I hope, Doc, that you'll be able to pop back in from time to time after your "official" visit is over and I'll be glad to tell you what my reaction is.

Having read some of Kenton's other material, though, I have very high expectations.

Meanwhile, I'll take this opportunity to thank you for all your comments thus far. I've been lurking and reading rather than posting, but I've found your thoughts enlightening and inspirational.

I love Wonder Words. I got hold of them quite a while ago almost as soon as I got back into magic after giving up on it since I was a kid. I was impressed by them on first hearing but now I have had a chance to start performing (albeit for friends, colleague etc) I am beginning to appreciate just how good they are! I can see so many ways in which they can be used to improve my performance.

A great set and worth every penny if you want to make your performance a lot better.
