Greetings everyone,
Here is some information that may be of interest to some of you in the Chicago area. Deceptions Unlimited presents: Theatrical Deception -- A Lecture by Rick Maue WHERE: Spareroom -- 2416 W. North Ave Chicago, IL WHEN: Tuesday, May 30th at 7:30 pm COST: $15.00 Per Person As an added bonus, Francis Menotti will present a 30-minute mini-lecture from his Creativity Show Lecture. Spareroom is just west of Wicker Park, specifically just west of the Shell gas station at the intersection of North and Western, on the north side of the street. Where are the closest El stops? blue line: damen stop // blue line: western stop A map can be found at: http://www.spareroomchicago.org/about_map.html Rick was recently featured in a 16-page spread in the April 2006 issue of MAGIC Magazine—which included a complete interview, and several of his original creations. In addition, the current issue of MAGIC (May 2006) contains a wonderful review (by Brad Henderson) of Rick’s newest release, FATE. But if you still are not familiar with the magic and mentalism of Rick Maue, then you need to keep reading because here is what Phil Willmarth (Executive Editor of The Linking Ring) had to say about Rick's lecture: "Very few lecturers, and I have seen many, have the understanding of magic, mentalism, and how to entertain with them that Rick Maue has. He is not only an excellent teacher of what to do and what not to do, but his own performances in the lecture demonstrate his understanding. I not only urge you to catch his lecture, but I also urge him to keep lecturing, for what he is saying and doing is very important." Or, in the words of Doc Eason: "The thinking behind the effects here is fascinating …simple in method and heavy on effect. These are the kinds of things that should be of interest to all of us. There are many lessons here. Well worth the time." The Theatrical Deception lecture is not a regular magic lecture, nor is it a mentalism lecture, or a "bizarre" lecture. Instead, it is a lecture on creating, adapting, and performing strong magic and mentalism. That is probably why Rick has been getting such wonderful endorsements from not only Phil Willmarth and Doc Eason, but also from a wide range of performers such as Simon Lovell, Banachek, Paul Gertner, Kenton Knepper, Jon Stetson, Docc Hilford, Harley Newman, Alain Nu, Joshua Jay, Craig Karges, and many others. Rick's recent lecture tours have taken him from New England to Florida, and from Arizona to Washington State. He has lectured in places such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Detroit, Boston, Tampa Bay, Portland, Seattle, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Phoenix, Raleigh, Richmond, Wilmington, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Long Island, Cincinnati, Nashville, and many others. But with all of that said, we would rather you read what others have said about Rick’s lecture. So allow us to suggest that read the two unsolicited reviews at the following links: http://insidemagic.com/article_269.shtml http://insidemagic.com/article_650.shtml To read more about Rick’s lecture, go here: http://www.deceptionsunlimited.com/lectures.html In addition, Rick is also still booking more dates for his 2006 tour, so contact Deceptions Unlimited for more information, or to book Rick's lecture for your group. You can call us at 412-823-4323, or reach us via email at: magic@deceptionsunlimited.com Thanks very much, and we hope to see you in 2006. Keep the change, Deceptions Unlimited |

Rick's lecture is not to be missed by anyone interested in magic or mentalism ... solid effects with well-thought out patter and presentations ... he was such an overwhelming crowd favorite at 2005 MINDvention that we are bringing him back for the 2006 LVMI ...
