Are these supposed to be like men's socks? (One size fits all) I purchased a set (my first one) from Hank, and no matter how I try, that little baby will NOT stay under the thumb nail like it's supposed to.
My thumb size is pretty average, and I am trying to grow the nail out longer to see if that will help accomodate it, but so far, all I get is a little gimmick that falls right out. Any body who can give me the scoop on this? Thanks!

Growing your nail out a bit will help. you will also have to adjust it a bit. I have some I'm using now that are just the standard nail writer that I've bent and played with till I got a good tight, yet easy to put on and remove, fit. I found that bending the wings a bit to curve just a little helped me get the thing on a bit easier and closing the gap between the weiter and my thumbnail worked fine. Of course I went through a pack of the darn things till I got it figured out but now I have at least two with me at all times. I am unable to use a boon at all. also tried makeing my own from an old TT but that didn't work for me. like anything it was well worth the work. hope that helps just a little bit.

I wish I could adjust the wings..but they are all one solid piece...not adjustable.

Hi Doug:I had the same problem when I received my nailwriters.
What you have to do in addition to making sure your thumbnail is long enough is:Using a needle nose pliers,VERY gently bend each end of the wing very minutely upward.Continue adjusting the upward curve of the wings until the writer 'clips' onto the nail.you will feel the 'spring like' upward pressure. This is what holds it securely in place.Hope that helps.Best. Johnson's used to fit me like a glove. I can't use a Dalal without drawing blood.
Then I discovered the joys of Bavli's TT style (no other such style compared) and became an immediate fan. But...Lincolon's Best Boon surpasses them all. I've never liked boons before and I've probably tried them all. I could never get them to stay steady or produce anything that didn't look like a ghostly scrawl. The LBB is rock solid, incredibly durable and writes better than ANY NW I've ever used. Joe, like you I could never use a boon; have you tried the LBB? Still, one size may not fit all. I know there are exceptions. I ran into a couple of people who couldn't use Guy's so this is my disclaimer just in case. Still, I think the LBB is more likely to fit more people and work well for them than other types. It is the easiest to change the lead on other than Guy's, there are no hassles to make it fit and it is not just a boon, but a system of storage and retrieval that is a real asset. Bill |

Yes Bill,I happen to be anxiously awaiting the arrival of LBB and also LPP.
Up to now I have been using my own adaption of the Dalal. It also is rock solid, and my addition enables it to be be put on while it is in my pocket or while it is in finger palm position, and it is almost invisible as well.(It's not a TT).It works like a dream for me. I just couldn't resist ordering the LBB with all the Positive reviews. Best. Rich |

I'm using the Dalal because I was able to adjust them to where I needed them. Had to get my nail long enough but that's no problem unlike my hair the nail seems to grow just fine LOL.

Doug,
The Lincoln Best Boom can be ordered at http://www.lincolnworld.com. There are numerous threads concerning it. I had long ago given up on using a Dalal with my poor nails but the Lincoln boon solved my problem and is as steady as can be. |

I was just about to bin my Dalal Swami, then I read this thread. I bought it a few weeks ago and had been growing my nail since I got it. I just couldn't work it properly. Then I took the advice here and bent the wings upwards. It took some trial and error but now it fits really securely. So thanks for the advice, especially Joe Comet!

Or you can make your own boon with an altered thumbtack some epoxy and pencil lead, attach with magicians wax and you're set!
