Does anyone out there know if there is a stand alone setup that will allow to you hold an ungimmicked lightbulb in your hand, and have it light up brightly? I have heard of such an effect that will pretty much push a 40 watt bulb to its full brightness. But can find no info on it.
Thanks Michael

Juan Mayoral's "Super Bulb" meets this description. Although a bit cumbersome, the "light output" (using an ungimmicked clear bulb) is extraordinary.

I concur exactly; Mayoral's is very bright, the gimmick is rather cumbersome - but you do finish clean, showing that the hands hold only the bulb, which is ungimmicked. Another version, bright, but with a smaller bulb which is shaped the same as a regular 40W bulb but is 2.5" long x 1.25" dia., is Bob King's Psychic Light, and which is much less expensive.
