STEVE MARTIN IS THE GREATEST!!!!
I heard he worked out that routine with Peter Pitt (and maybe Ricky Jay too?) I also heard that he worked it up "just for the fun of it", and actually was opening up for The Smother Brother's as The Great Flydini. He had no aspiration or desire to perform it on TV, but when Johnny Carson was retiring, he asked Steve Martin if he would perform Flydini on one of the last Carson "Tonight Show's", which is that appearance. I love watching that, especially when the phone rings the 2nd time, and you can read Steve's lips, "I thought I told you never to call me at....", done like a true silent film screen star. SOOOO FUNNY!!!!!
