Years ago I remember seeing John Fedko demonstate a vanishing deck routine that was very clever. He had someone sign a card and then the card was put back in teh box with the rest of the deck and a razor blade was thrown in as well. He then put the box in another box (I believe it was made of wood) and shook everything up. You could hear the razor blade moving around. When the box was opened, inside was the selected card and the razor. The rest of the deck was shredded to pieces.
It was so long ago that I can't remember all the details or the vanishing deck gimmick that he used. Anyone know if the routine is available? eric |

I think I have this trick. Nicely made. Don't know if it's still marketed.

Robert,
Could you kindly tell me the name of this trick? Or point me to the right direction to buy the trick? Many thanks. Hirase

Yes, I have it in a wooden bridge style. I agree it's a great trick, but bridge cards are way out of style. I wound up having a friend custom make me one out of cherry with my business info lasered into the top.

Rick Johnson, or someone of that era, originally presented this effect using just a regular Bicycle card box...

See the current issue of Magic Magazine for making a similar sounding effect with a Bicycle card case, and full discussion. It looked fairly complicated.

Hello everyone
John Fedko is lecturing at our local S.A.M. meeting in Phoenix next Wednesday (11-7). Is there anything "special" you'd recommend we ask him to elaborate upon? Julie |

John Bannon has a trick similar to this in his book Smoke and Mirrors. I'm pretty sure the name of his trick is The Chainsaw Masecare(sp) card.
