Some info that may be of interest.
Ken The Ulster Society of Magicians is proud to announce that Max Maven will be lecturing in Belfast for them on Sunday, January 19th, 2003. This is the second Ted Oldham Memorial Lecture and will be Max's only lecture in Ireland. The cost is £20.00. The exact venue and time are to be announced, but it will be early enough for visitors to return home on the same day. For further details contact the Secretary George Bleeks on 028 906 45795, email george.bleeks@ntlworld.com or visit the website http://www.online-usm.com. If you've never been to Belfast, why not make a weekend out of it? There are plenty of low-cost fares available, particularly if you book in advance. |

Is this gonna be a European lecture tour? If so, do you happen to know any further lecture dates?

This is the only date I am aware of in Europe but you could check his own web site for more details. http://www.maxmaven.com/ I know he is going to Finland to do some TV work. Best wishes Ken Here is a last plug for the Max Maven lecture in Belfast. Best wishes Ken "The Ulster Society of Magicians is proud to announce that Max Maven will be lecturing in Belfast on Sunday, January 19th 2003. This will be the second Ted Oldham Memorial Lecture and will be Max’s only lecture in Ireland on this visit. The lecture will start at 11.30 a.m. and run through to 4.30 p.m with a break for lunch from 1.30 to 2.30 - that's a four-hour lecture! The venue will be the Lyric Theatre, Belfast. This is one of the most popular theatres in the city and we will have use of all their facilities - tiered seating, lights, sound etc. The bar will also be open before, at lunch and after the lecture and we have arranged that food will be available at lunch-time for a very reasonable cost. This will be an excellent day. The cost for the lecture will be £20 excluding lunch. We are hoping that we will be able to get a few magicians together on the Saturday for a meal, a few drinks and a chat. If you require accommodation, just let us know your requirements and we can book you in somewhere close. Alternatively, you could have a look at the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's website. The name and address of the venue is the Lyric Theatre, 55 Ridgeway Street, Belfast, BT9 5FB. Anywhere in the Queen's University area would be very handy. If you require directions, please do not hesitate to contact us. The Lyric theatre is a big venue and so there will be no problem with just turning up on the day. There is no need to book in advance. It would be useful however to have some idea of numbers so that we can make sure that the caterers have sufficient food. If you know that you are definitely coming, please let me know." Can I use the forum here to say many thanks to Alan, George and all the other members of USM - firstly for the time and effort they put into making the Max Maven day happen and run so smoothly and secondly for going out of their way to make visiting magicians welcome and ensure they had an enjoyable time, your efforts are much appreciated.
thanks again David

I think almost all the material he covered was new. The lecture that Max held here in Finland was very well received.
