I have a lot of the Annemann material in ebook form. It's all wonderful and inspiring. The one man routine is great.

You might want to go to my 'Free ebooks & articles' page http://www.lybrary.com/free_ebooks.php and read an article about the best beginners magic books. There is a section on mentalism which will give you some ideas for books and ebooks.

Best,

'Practical' is a very subjective and personal description. For one it is, for the next it might not be. For me Annemann's mentalism is one of the best and very practical, because Annemann was a performer and not just an 'inventor'. Some of the mentalsim material available isn't at all tested and are at best ideas or pipe dreams. The Annemann stuff is tested and very very good. But that doesn't mean that every single effect is something you want to do or you can do.

Best,
Chris....

I just downloaded this a couple of days of ago mainly to get ideas for a
mentalism/cards competition at my local IBM. I already have a mentalism routine,
but figure I check out all the hub bub about Annemann. I was actually
hoping that lybrary had 13 steps...but no luck so I donwloaded this one.

I found the act very convincing and clearly written. The act and addendum contain
some nice material that can be polished and/or updated for a good mentalism act.
From a layman's perspective, I don't see why you can't just do the act as
written. Though I wouldn't. I'm no profesional mentalist, but already done some
of billet routines and phone book routine, which have returned some nice
reactions.

I am still undecided on whether to include any of this material in my act though.
The biggest pay off is the "Telephone Drama", "Dead Name Test" (though I don't
think I would use dead people's names or have anyone drum one up), "New nile divination", "Living and Dead combo", and a small snippet of adivse which I think
comes in handy big time.

For 3.50 you can't lose on this one. Even if your a beginer mentalist like me.

Absolutely. These ebooks are a steal for all the great information contained within. People can argue the merits of hard copies and ebooks till they're blue in the face. But information is information. And frankly, I don't care how I get it as long as I get it.

I could care less myself. I'll take info in every which way it comes. Plus, the
downloadable PDFs is instant gratification. No waiting. If I want the actual book
I will go to the local Magic store and pick it up. There is a lot of factors in
which I make my decision, but generally the ebooks are great.

The 13 steps is more like a text book on what mentalism involves. And is excellent. Annemann's stuff is made up of actual effects laid out in the traditional method/effect format. I would get the ebook and read through it at the same time as Corinda.
