It's called America's Got Talent. You'll have to check for the dates...

The two-hour series premier is Wednesday, June 21, according to http://www.nbc.com . They don't list the talent lineup yet, but there are a bunch of preview videos.

Ahah! The catch is revealed. This so called Talent show is an updated GONG SHOW. It appears that each judge can give you an "X" and you're out when you get 3 of them.

Nah..Gene is too big of a star these days. I doubt they could afford him!

This show makes me cringe however as I remember the treatment magicians got on the gong show. Remember 30 seconds to fame? They actually edited in boo effects for some of the acts. Clever of Simon not to mention this 3 strikes bit in any of the casting calls!

Tim

It could be rough. When I saw that I was wondering how a magician would fare. It's not going to be easy I'll bet. The contestants are going to have precious little time to grab the judges attention if it's set up like the Gong Show.

That's exactly why Sylvester will probably make the cut...

I agree. If anyone can do it, it would be Dan Sylvester with his living cartoon character. But he's very unique. If any other magis are trying out they better bring it and bring it quick.

I'm all for seeing Dan on TV, but isn't this supposed to be a contest for (for lack of a better word) amateurs? I mean, Dan is a seasoned pro with national TV appearances, awards up the ying-yang, and such. Isn't that a little unfair?

He isn't a household name though. This show could make him one.

Magician Adam Flowers from Chicago (now in Las Vegas) is slated to appear on the show this Wednesday.

Was surfing through preview clips for the show...Only saw one magician so far, but he seemed to do well.
Fun little trick with a gigantic microwave. Got a good laugh from the audience.
There was a bad juggler too...
That was ugly.

That would be Nathan Burton. Nathan is a full time performer in Vegas.
I was surprised to see this trick done on TV this time as it didn't pass the censors last time he attempted to do it on a national television show.
