On a different thread, there was a discussion regarding lousy tricks with great endorsements. Bill Palmer suggested the use of creative editing to make them. Just for fun, I edited some of my incoming PMs (of people who have never seen me perform) to make these rave reviews. What kind of reviews can you make?

The following are actual quotes of professional Magicians, in personal messages to Josh the Superfluous:

"... one of the guys who "gets it""
"Always nice..."
-Michael Baker

"Best"
-Neil Tobin

"Best"
-Harry Lorayne

"...WONDERFUL!!!"
-Bill Palmer

"You are obviously a worker... You are one of the few I don't disrespect..."
-Danny Doyle

"Now that's some thinking for a change!... Wow...very scrumptious."
-Randy Stewart
What do you want in a site? "Honesty, integrity and decency." -Mike Doogan
"I hate it, I hate my ironic lovechild. I didn't even have anything to do with it" Josh #2

Be afraid... be very afraid!!!

Actual words PM'd by Josh the Superfluous... tweaked, twisted, and rearranged into something EVIL... BWA-HA-HA-HAAAAA!!!

(DISCLAIMER!!! - THIS IS COMPLETELY DONE IN THE NAME OF A GOOD JOKE!!! JOSH THE SUPERFLUOUS IS ACTUALLY A NICE GUY AND NEVER INTENDED FOR HIS WORDS TO BE USED THIS WAY... BUT SINCE HE STARTED IT... BWA-HA-HA-HAAA, AGAIN!!!)

"I will use this concept often."

"Since you are my whole life. I turned pro at 9. Quit immediately after (didn't care). I'm currently dating Harvey, my soon to be wife."

"Every time I stopped showing the few things I did... I decided to learn more. I discovered Fun. He turned me on....and the videos of JP. He knew my needs... and I took advantage...Now I think about it every second...close-up and special times."

Randy, You were referring to a powder blue ruffle shirt, with an oversized bow-tie, in someone's publicity photo. In your defense, it did sound scrumptious.

Michael, I see more editing than I do dots.

Oh yes! The Seven Pound Bow-tie. Let's wait for others to come in. Will be, well, scrumptious?

There was one magician -- now deceased, who regularly used other people's promo material. He added his name to the texts.

Another trick is to just quote the material without adding your name.

Here's what they said:

"The best magician I have ever seen!" Ed Sullivan

"How in the world did he do that?" Dinah Shore.

(They weren't talking about me, but they said that about somebody!)

Very common is when the magician writes the praise and raves himself and asks the person whose name will appear at the bottom if they agree to its use. People will often not take the time to pen a letter of praise, but will often authorize one in their name.

I have also know people to simply make it all up. Many of these generic commentaries are not really traceable, or the reader just won't bother himself to do it. The art is to make them believable.

A little chicanery here, a little chicanery there...
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.
