Ever since he taught me some of those effects, they have become a part of my arsenal...
--"Blow Me a Kiss" is a very stunning effect... --"The Boss' Ultimate Birthday Trick" is a sure fire crowd pleaser... hats off to you Boss... |

I think some have been let down by magic instruction being merely revamped, if NOT commercialized, if not names in the literature being arbitrarily changed for "mass appeal"...
But with THE BOSS, you can't go wrong he doesn't just teach, he is an innovator and creator of routines. ;) ;)
I would, however contest that there is in REALITY very little pportunity to perform what could actually be termed "close-up" magic.

... I'd also like to add to what someone said about the showmanship in RR's videos... there's this very raw candidness about his close-up setting, with no pretensions that makes it more fun.
:)

My favorite is "Raw Choice" and "Blow Me A Kiss". In the former, the egg switch is soooo clean, I had to replay it several times to watch that move. The latter is quite romantic and very applicable for a "cassanova" type of presentation.
If you are looking for "real world" magic for "real" people (not magicians), I highly recommended this dvd.

This DVD is really great guys!
I have to say that my favorite are Blow me a kiss and the Birthday card trick. Everything in this video is fun and enjoying to both the performer and the spectator. Plus, the methods aren't that difficult! This are the things that really work in the real world |

The dvd was fun to watch the effects flow smoothly as a complete routine. The boss share his thoughts on topits and sleeving, it gets the creative juices flowing to explore the use of topit on close up work... the effects were tried and tested for real audiences. This dvd is a gem... buy it

Just a short note to say that I got my copy of "Late night at the Tavern"!!
I've only had time to watch it once (dang schedules!), but I can already tell you, this is a JEWEL! So many different effects I can DEFINATELY use in my work at the theme park and our shop in town... My only 'issue'? Now, because of the beauty of his work, I will HAVE to make a Toppit and learn to use it!! I've been avoiding it, but seeing what Rannie has opened up for me with it, I HAVE to! Again, thank you Boss Man for being an innovator and Mentor... You made my day pal! Prof. Piper (Terry)

Just received mine today along with 4 other DVDs I purchased from The Godfather's site. Rannie's DVDs from the P.I. and The Godfather's DVDs from California both arrived on the same day. La Famiglia really knows how to coordinate.
Late Night at the Tavern is a collection of real workers for the close-up magician. My favorites on this one are "Blow Me a Kiss", "Mr. Picasso", and "The Boss' Ultimate Birthday Trick". I'm used to purchasing single effect DVDs at the price that this DVD is offered at, so I think that Late Night at the Tavern is a great value. Rannie's presentation is particularly useful to me. I perform mostly for Japanese tourists, but wish to develop a performing character that will also appeal to the local population of my island. Filipinos make up the second largest group on Guam, and the Boss' candid style plays particularly well to a filipino audience (in my opinion, a tough crowd to win over). This offering is definitely one of the more useful DVDs I've purchased this year. |

Thank you for your kind words. I am very happy to hear that my effects are being used by workers around the world. These babies have served me well fir years. Now it is yours as well.
Terry, Its time to get that Topit out of the closet. There is so much more in my later offerings. John, We have to session one time. Guam has been like a third home to me. I used to visit the island twice a year to do shows and to visit my Grandfather grave down in Pigo. I used to be so frustrated since there were no close up magicians around to session with. Now I know my visit next time will be fun. Rannie aka The Boss aka The Manila Enforcer
