Hello all,

I just thought you guys would like to see the article that was written about New Jersey Magicians... The writer of the article, Judy Peet, actually came to my SAM Club (161) to attend the annual Magic Competition, and then joined us at a near-by Diner to interview us, and gain information about the Art of Magic... This article, believe it or not, made the FRONT PAGE of the Union County Star Ledger! Enjoy...

(The section about us, in the Diner, begins with "It is a Monday night..." and ends with "...Another reason is that they think sleight-of-hand is cool.")

Feedback is more than welcome!

Great share Vinnie. I am from Philadelphia area and SAM #4. I did have the pleasure of performing for your group a few years back and had a great time doing so. You guys know how to have a lot of fun. I hope to see you and some others at the Bob Little Convention this Sunday.

Thanks a bunch, Kyle!

Really with I could make it to the convention, but it's a little too far... LOL... I have yet to find a convention in NJ...

Not a problem at all Vinnie. There is a NJ convention I think twice a year that is called Magic Funday. Ask your club about it as it is in NJ and you might really enjoy it a lot.

Good article, but I disagree with your statement of "You can't learn this by yourself." Maybe YOU can't, but that does not mean no one else can. I am living proof that you can indeed do it yourself, as I have been doing it myself for almost 30 years now, and I am sure many others here have as well. I have never been in a magic club, and I did not even meet any magicians in person until about my 10th year performing professionally.

But that is simply because there were no other magicians in my area, and there still isn't. I am looking to change that though soon by finally starting my own ring, or assembly or even both. But regardless, anyone who has the desire to do it alone, or anything else for that matter, can succeed. I know a few magicians who have performed over 50 years, and never had anyone teach them a thing in person. Although having mentors would be a definite plus, it is far from necessary. You can be and do anything you want, provided you put your mind to it. I know.
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini
