The most popular and best selling thumb tip is the Vernet brand hard plastic thumb tip. The Vernet soft thumb tip is not used as much as the hard version. You do not even have to buy a soft thumb tip. You can do everything you want with the Vernet hard thumb tip.

Here are two more:
1) Avoid getting your thumb caught in a car door. 2) Make sure your thumb does not get stuck in a bowling ball.

One other.
If preparing a fourteen day camel, keep your thumbs out of the way.

The man that I learned from said when used correctly the thumb tip could be made of chrome or painted neon yellow and no one would be the wiser. I'm not that good yet or at least that confident.

He should have shown you how. It's not difficult. It's just a matter of knowing where the eyes are located and where they are looking.

Bill,
He did show me how keeping the attention on the things you want you audience to focus on, would keep them from noticing what the TT looked like or even how oversized it might be, but he did not have a chrome one to use. On another subject; I've made many improvements on the shells and especially the peas. The non-working pea looks and feels very much like the working pea now, but stays under the shells when moved. This is something I think is pretty much my creation, at least the non-working peas I'm aware of are quit deferent from the working peas. My peas are so much alike you will have to put them under the shell and slide them to know which is which. The shells, now have a much more natural finish, I think they look and feel much better. Respectfully, Tom Bartlett

That sounds good to me. I have something for you, which will include some methodology of handling a TT.
