Hello
I have a platform and very deceptive stairs (grand version, like woodbury). I use it for closer in my big show (with a apparatus on the top; it is a vanish) Do you know other routines I can use easily put on the top (vanish, appearance too,or teleportation...), with little building . I think about with carton box, or with big silks.. maybe for a shadow box ? With a trunk etc... |

I don't speak french but let me first say: bienvenue au Café (welcome to the Café) International brother of mysterey, the use of deceptive stairs is like owning a swiss army knife. The possibilities are endless.
You can walk through walls. Teleport from one place to the other, appear in the audience, and on and on. I will answer your question with a question. What kind of venue will this play? Is there a run around route? What's the wing space like (if any) for a clean getaway? What's the footprint of the stage? and the illusion? What's your style, your preference. What were your original thoughts on the piece perhaps we can help you elaborate on that concept. My thought is to keep the connecting table or platform Very very simple. Maybe just a 1" or Two" wooden platform with plywood. Or if your budget is a bit more you can go with 1 or two inch C channel with Aluminum plate on top of that, on uprights. So that the stairs can connect to that. A strait vanish could be cool or a production of an assitant could be impressive. Specially from an "Innocent" table with nothing on it fully lit and nothing to it at all. Just some thoughts. Nothing groundbreaking.. R |

I always thought a De Kolta Chair at the top of the platform looks pretty cool..Of course, a reappearance in the audience!
