Hey,
I currently do a haunted pack routine using IT and was looking to spice it up maybe by using tarot cards instead of a regular pack. I'm looking for a good set that will slide easily for this effect and hopefully some that are more the size of regular playing cards. I know tarot cards are typically a lot bigger but if they come in any smaller variety that would be best. Thanks |

The Hanson-Roberts deck s smaller than most Tarot...but do yourself a favor and learn about the cards before introducing them into you act.

Both the traditional Rider-Waite and Crowley's Thoth deck come in smaller versions. If you're doing a Haunted Pack, I would recommend using Crowley's.

The gothic tarot by Joseph Vargo is also a really good deck to use.

I guess another possibility is the Gypsy Witch Deck.

Regarding the "slide easily," this can be improved with a dry lubricant. Andruzzi used Teflon he purchased at the hardware store. For exceptional information regarding using the Tarot as a haunted deck, please check out Tony Andruzzi's "Bizarre!", now available on DVD (Yea!!) through Steven's (www.stevensmagic.com), or Eugene Burger's "Eugene Goes Bizarre," available at http://www.yourmagic.com.

We make rising tarot cards at MagiCurios. Our most popular is the Gothic Tarot followed by the Egyptian Tarot. These are packs that can be placed in a Houlette or glass and a selected card rises (not the the traditional haunted pack that moves in the hand)
We also do shimmed tarot but only in the mini Rider Waite - the regular size are too difficult to move around. Simon |

I love the Thoth deck.

I use the smaller size (2-3/4 by 4-1/4 inches) Thoth tarot deck by Aleister Crowley for The Exorcism. This deck is small enough to be contained in a hollowed-out Bible.
I use the Eugene Burger hookup (which can be easily released, leaving the deck essentially normal) so that I can later hand the deck to the spectators who participate in the exorcism.
