A question for the Workers...
For my next corporate group, I was thinking of having my contact person send out an email to everyone who is attending the show as a way of preping the audience way before they arrive on site (similar to the way an audience that decides to attend a public hypnosis show starts imagining the show, and anticipating etc). I was trying to decide what to include in the email. Two obvious ideas are: - a written pre-talk that gives helpful information to the audience - links to amazing scientific discovers on the power of hypnosis and the subconscious mind. - my bio, filled with impressive credits and enthusiastic quotes from previous audience members Any thoughts? Thanks peter gross Boston Hystercial Society |

You will get the same volunteers from a opening lecture anyhow.

Yes, but will they be better prepped?
I seem to be getting calls these days from groups where one person is deciding 'for the group' to hire a hypnotist, so I have no idea what people's attitude is going to be when I walk it. My next one is for a group of software engineers, and their bosses. Any suggestions on how to adjust my pretalk? Thanks Peter |

Why give them a chance to form pre concieved notions?

As I understood your idea, you want to send out something that amounts to a pre-talk for your show in an email. Not a bad idea, but, from a pracical standpoint, it doesn't work (several others have tried this and it backfired on all but one of them and for her, it had no appreciable impact, either way). First off, the readers won't READ it. It will be viewed as spam, even if it is sent out through the company's own intranet. "Oh, just another hype about the upcoming party. Big deal, I have work to do, porn to surf, etc." Or worse, it will be read and some loudmouth with a religious agenda will start mouthing off in the Caféteria about how evil this stuf is, or someone else will start any one of a dozen urban legends about someone who didn't "come out" of hypnosis, went crazy because of hypnosis or got embarrassed AT a hypnosis show and there's NO WAY that THEY'd EVER volunteer for such a show...! Now add the fact that top management will probably also be attending the event... and reviews are coming up... Just let them announce that there will be entertainment or that there will be a show... you run a much lower risk of someone starting the whole "anti-hypnosis" campaign in the company... Been there, had it happen, seen it happen to others. A better way MIGHT be to have them run your promo video in the company Caféteria during lunchtime and breaks. At least that way, they SEE how much fun your show is...! Lee Darrow, C.H.
