Here's a link to a case that might be of use to you:
http://www.pssl.com/bitemdetail.tpl?waGr......rce=1Pro In case this link dies, the case is called: GEMINI DJC1040AR ALUMINUM CD PLAYER CASE, and the website is called ProSound and Stage Lighting. The description goes like this:
At this time, the item is on sale for $19.99. The same case is listed for $35 at a different website, but it also lists the dimensions of the case: http://www.hollywooddj.com/gedj.html It looks like it may be a very reasonably priced case that will handle many of those magical items! |

Those are cool- I have DJ friends with those very cases. If you want to find more to choose from do an online seatch in google for "turntable coffin" (the industry term for those cases)
Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.

Turntable coffins are much bigger... This case is smaller then a breifcase,
maybe slightly longer. If your going to go with a coffin you might as well just shoot for an ATA. Shawn.

Follow-up:
I received the case quickly, in good shape from ProSound. It is a hard shelled case, and lined on the inside with a rubber type thin foam, so most of your small items would be suitably protected. One feature that I wasn't aware of before my purchase - the lid will completely separate at the back hinges. It is designed that way, and I mention it because some on you may not care for that. (The case is designed for a DJ, and I don't know why they need/use a case that way). However, it does have locking clasps, so you can keep out the curious. All things comsidered, it was a decent $25 purchase. |

The lid will come off so one could leave sound mixers, recorders, playback decks, etc..., things that might be carried inside the case, to remain there (somewhat protected) and still allow the cables to be connected in the back of the equipment without having to actually remove them from their cases.

I'm still trying to figure out the interior dimensions of that case. The company said they don't know. How's about you measure and let me know. I don't really like the removable lid feature, though. PM me with the size if you don't mind.

Interior dimensions:
The case is 4" deep (2" on either side) 10½" front to back Right at 24" long, HOWEVER, it is divided/separated into 3 sections: left right sections measuring 8½x10½, and the middle section measuring 6x10½. This divided section is on the bottom/base side, the "top" side is not divided, but has a strip of foam running the 24" length, and placed in the middle - it is 1" thick, 3" wide and 24" long. |
