Hello ... has anybody seen the Abbott product "Beauty Canary Cage".
It is in their catalog and is for performing Orange, Lemon and Canary. The cage dimensions are very small, 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 7 1/2, which is why I am interested in it . Thanks .... |

The canary cage works on the exact same principle as the OLEC cages. The only difference is that it is a small cage simply used as a production. I have never seen it used for the OLEC effect and have only seen it used to produce a canary or parakeet.

Did it look good?
After seeing it performed do you think it would look good for a OLEC routine? I love the size....tiny.... |

I feel it is hard to see the bird through the bars.

Could a parakeet be used or are they too large for this cage.... Has anyone seen a cage that is this small for this type of effect ? I am guessing that the bars are wooden dowels ..Is the release safe? Thanks guys for you info.....

Parakett is too big. Bars are wooden dowels. I will be at Abbott's next week and can check it again to be sure.

I have seen it many times and it is small but looks nice, painted gold and black. The top opens to remove the bird. It comes with a way to vanish the bird in a paper bag using a blank gun. Put bird in bag and shot bag, which blows a hole in the bag and bird is gone.
Yes you could use a parakeet, but both the canary or parakeet will have no room to turn around. They will pretty much fill the cage. Just call Greg Bordner the owner of Abbott's for help. Tell him Bill told you to call. |

Thanks guys ... I'll call Greg and ask him too. I have a few Abbotts props and I love them ... The Superior table is a real work of art and the Mutilated parasol ...the best ! I'm sure the cage is nice but I want to make sure it will work for what I need it for .....

Mr. Mikame also makes a cage virtually the same as Abbott's--wonder where he got the idea???

Hello Richard,
Did you see any cages at the con? Thanks .... |

Yes, they were there and seem a little small to me but if Greg says it will fit a parakeet, it will. However, it is not very tall and I think you might want to consider a taller cage to better show the bird after the production.
