Here's mine"
set up: 2 normal cards, then packet with three, packet with TWO, packet with three, packet with three. Patter: 1)Saw a magician.... 2) went to the magic shop and asked if he had the trick where... 3) clerk said NO... but he had the one where he took TWO cards away.. 4) I told him I didn't want THAT one... I wanted the one where the magician .... takes THREE cards away... Since he didn't have the one I wanted, I STILL don't know how to do it! (author unknwn) -end- |

I would likely do it as an opener to a different card effect with the kids helping me count the cards, and you just keep getting more frustrated at the multiplying cards. I think with kids, the patter won't matter as much as your acting ability to become frustrated with the cards. There should be some reason for the cards in the first place, so maybe it's the opener for a kid's card effect like Wolf's Chicken Sword...or a torn & restored routine, etc.

Doug has a good idea there; he taught it to me. I need to work on it, however. I end up adding one card each time!

I'm gonna do the three card magic trick! (he said loudly) How many cards do you think I will need for the three card magic trick? Three? That sounds like a good idea! Let me just count off three cards from this deck and I'll show you the three card magic trick! One, Two, Three! That should do it. Now, what was I going to do? Oh, yes the three card magic trick! How many cards do I need? Three? I'd better count them again. Your memory begins to get wiggly when you're my age. Help me out here. One, two,three...four? Five? Six? That's not right. Let me throw these three away and start over. I'm going to do the three card magic trick! I need three cards to do the three card magic trick. Let me show you that I have just three cards here! One, two, three ... four? Where did that come from? Five? Six? That's not right. I'll just get rid of these extra cards under the carpet where no one can see them. I'm going to do the three card magic trick!.... etc.

Aldo Columbini does the best/funniest 6 card repeat I've ever seen.
Don't know which DVD it's on. You could find it somewhere?

I still really enjoy watching Michael Finney's 6 card repeat routine. It fits his personna very well. Also I really enjoy Tim Ellis and his version of 6 card repeat called "6 card rap". Very creative thinkers with totally different ways of thinking creatively for their audiences.

I don't have it all put together yet but I am working on a motivational six card repeat (only because I like the trick!) with a working theme on concentration and focus.
Think about that and how easy it is to come up with some patter for SCR! John |

Old, old thread. But I'm surprised no one mentioned John Ramsay's Six Card Repeat. It's superb.
