Can anyone point me to a source for shimming material for playing cards? I am sure there is some technical term that I don't know, but I am looking for the thin "paperlike" material.
Thanks for the help! Michael

Jaz made a nice suggestion on this thread if you are only doing one or two cards. There is other info there as well.

Meijin,
Jaz is correct, but,if you want something paper thin try this. Many Retail stores use anti-theft devices attached to their products(they stick them on to avert shoplifters). The ones I am talking about are aprox. 2 inches long 3/8 of an inch wide,1/8 inch thick and are tan or white in color. These little plastic case have a very thin piece of steel inside,it is 1/4 inch wide and 1 and 1/2 inches long. So thin it can be cut with a pair of scissors. They make excellent card shims. The draw back is the thinner the material the stronger your attracting force must be. I discovered this while opening some printer ink and was curious as to what this little gizmo was. Staples and Office Max were using these and many Larger Retailers. Wizzard
