I am going to start doing back of room sales properly for my shopping centre shows. to begin, I will sell just the Silly Billy inflatable wand.
Usually, I end the show by letting children line up, meet my rabbit and get photo. This is when I will sell the wands. My pitch will be to use the wand with a child towards the end of the show and then say "By the way, if anyone would like a wand of their own, we'll be selling them after the show for $5." Then at the end of the show. "In a second we are all going to line up to have a pat of Cornelius and get a free colouring sheet. Just a reminder that parents, if you'd also like to a get an inflatable wand they are just $5 each and we can them either blown up or flat so you can fold them up in your handbag!" This is too crash a marketing pitch? |

Sounds OK to me---I guess you'll find out when you give it a "test drive". Good luck!

Nicholas -
There are a couple of subtlies to the pitch that a person can incorporate, to increase response, and make it seem less about you, and more about the customer. Just tweaks to the script. You will find that information within Rick Allen's MegaBux$ course, all about BOR sales. Because it is his information, I can't reveal it. I am not saying you have to buy his course. I am just saying that I found it beneficial, and found a couple of subtlies that make "the pitch" seem easier for me to say, without feeling guilty or pushy. And I was very pleased with the results, the times I have been able to do BOR. I have not tried to do BOR a lot, only a few times when the opportunity seems right. Here's another thread where I mentioned my experience: Cafe thread titled... After Show sales success - Donald

I think you pitch sounds good, it is very similar to what I do at library shows and it always gets a good response. You're not beating them over the head with it, you are just letting them know about it if they are interested.
Let us know how it works for you-I suspect it will work well. Chad |
