I will be attending a seminar from Sept 23-27 in the Boston Mass. area and am wondering where I can find magic being performed either stage or resturant. Any help will be appreciated.

I think there is a show there called Le Grand David which is supposed to be pretty good. something else you might want to check out is Ray Goulet's Magic museum over in Watertown Mass. It's not too far from Boston and is an incredible, one of a kind collection.

Your best bet is the Mystery Lounge, a weekly show at one of the Boston areas best comedy clubs, The Comedy Studio.

Time to revive an old thread. The Mystery Lounge in Harvard Square is indeed a fantastic place to see some magic while in the Boston area. I attended a conference last week in Boston and decided to check out the Lounge. It's just a couple of blocks from the Harvard Square T station.
The lineup included David Garrity, David Oliver, Joe Howard, and a special appearance by Jon Stetson. Plus, a short stand up comedy set by a local up and coming comic. All for the grand total of $10! The performances were great. A nice mix a comedy, magic, and mentalism. They each even handled Neil without any problems. Great job, guys! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. |

I am in Boston for a conference as well. I just saw Steve Kradolfer, and Joe Howard with guest comedian Daniella Capolino and fellow Chicagoan P.T. Murphy. It was hard to believe this evening only cost me $10! And the food at the Chinese restaurant downstairs was wonderful! I highly recommend The Mystery Lounge. What a great evening this was, everybody on the bill was AWESOME!

The mystery lounge is awesome. This is a small intimate space, great for close-up. I live in Cambridge, studying magic. Only discovered this place last year and I have been living in Cambridge for 14 years. I have seen guests Steve Dacri, George Saterial and Joe Howard who is a regular.I sometimes go just to see Joe's excellent "Cups and Balls". If you like traditional sleight of hand/magical skills, dating back to the Pharaoh's, see Joe's C&B's. You will find a fair amount of MIT brains in the audience. You get the show, free candy, Tootsie rolls, mints, all for $10. For a dinner, then the show - Bartley's Burgers is next door, also Grafton Street Restaurant and Bar.

You can go to the Mystery Lounge. I've been there twice and it was cool, and if you're student the ticket only costs $5.
