I'll second Tattoo You by John Bannon. Wow! The Stranger's Gallery d/backers are probably a little harder to come by, in terms of making them yourself, but can be bought as a packet. Doc Eason's Anniversary Card is also pretty perfect

I do mark wilson's "Insta Transpo" regularly. Pretending to write your name on the card is harder than any of the slights he describes.

I think some of the best effects with double backers can be found in Mark Wilson's.
It's a funny thing, even though we have so many resources for great magic, I always tend to go back to the Mark Wilson Course In Magic. It's a classic! Stever

I like to end Color Monte with a double backer (red/blue). The spectators don't know what to make of it.

There is a color changing deck routine on 2Faced DVD (David Forrest) which is excellent, plus other DB effects. (The cards are included with the DVD). Similarly, some strong effects are provided (with cards) on Packet Killer DVD.

DB cards are a great utility item. I love to use them. They are simple, but SOOOO versatile.
BTW, does anyone else find it ironic that Jon Allen's "Double Back" (a killer effect!) DOESN'T use one!?!?!?!?! More ironic still... would the above statement be an example of ANTI-exposure?

You forgot to mention that it's a magnetic DB with a spring-loaded sliding middle. Hey, I need to register that idea in the "most ridiculous gaff card" contest next door.

There is a really neat little way to force any number of cards using a DB in Hugard's "Encyclopedia of Card Tricks". It is by Henry Christ, I believe. It is, if I remember right, the last (or one of the last) "trick" in the section of tricks with a DB card.
From there you can work a lot of magic. I like to force 3 cards and reveal them in a variety of ways and at different times during a presentation. Great for prediction effects, as well.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
