I just started getting into mentalism. I have 13 steps and I am now considering buying a couple of DVDs.
1) What's the difference between the "Mind Mysteries" and the "Easy To Master Mental Miracles" series? Is one better than the other for a beginner? In a search that I did it seems that MM is more popular. 2) Max Maven's Videomagic is also a DVD Series that I am considering. How related is it to the Prism book? Thanks in advance guys! |

Third question:
Are you sure you allready learned enough from 13steps?

1. ETMMM is a collection of performance pieces by some of mentalism's best thinkers. Richard Osterilind performs and teaches a variation of these classics. Mind Mysteries and Mind Mysteries Too contain (for the most part) Richard's material. 2. Max Maven's VideoMind series is related to the Prism book is just two ways. The Prism book was written as a series of booklets by Phil Goldstein. During a full moon, amy, many years ago, Phil transformed into Max Maven. So, both the VideoMind series and Prism (the color book of mentalism series) have the same creator. Additionally, they both deal with mentalism. I hope that helped. Tony |

I admit, I wasn't really helpful.
I find a lot of Richard's material suitable for beginners. Get yourself his DVDs

Thanks guys for your posts.
13 steps is a book that I will keep going back to so I don't think I learnt everything. I read the parts that I find more interesting for now. Tony, thanks for the clarification on ETMMM and MM. As for Prism and Videomagic, are the effects in the volumes also contained in the book? I don't want to get the DVDs just for the presentation. Thanks again! |

You keep saying Videomagic. I originally thought you meant VideoMind, but I could be mistaken. Since I've never seen Videomagic, I think your best bet is to PM Max directly. He is a member of the Café.
