I find that I'm guaranteed to only carry 3 items on me at any time:
- With my wallet: card to wallet - With my phone: object to phone (my phone case is gimmicked) - With my ring: Circuit by Zach Heath Depending on how many spectators, and what I'm wearing that day, I can vanish some small objects using sleight of hand. (Currently limited to a couple basic techniques, but I'm working on my coin sleights, to get more versatile.) I find coin and ring sleights to be the most versatile for impromptu magic. If I have a deck of cards on me (usually true these days), then tons of tricks can be performed with that -- that usually feels less impromptu though. If I'm carrying a thumb tip, then that's the best case for impromptu magic, because most people are expecting that I'm performing with my bare hands since it's "impromptu". If this is the case, I'll usually play up the fact that "I'm completely unprepared and have no equipment for magic, so I gotta do what I can with what I have." |
