Greetings,
Does anyone know where I could find actual plans to build a Jarret Pedestal? I was looking through my Jarret book yesterday and came up with an idea. But, the book does not explain the construction process in detail. PM or email with any help you can give. orion2185@direcway.com Thanks, Mike |

I noticed there was a slight absence of replies since your Christmas post. Honestly, the thought of dropping through a Jarrett pedestal, or being squeezed up through one, is more than a little frightening to my claustrophobic sensibilities. I'd suggest checking with Jim Steinmyer, through his website, since he is one of the more knowledgable, younger experts on the screwy genius Guy Jarrett. (With respects to Jay Marshall.)

I don't think you'll find any actual plans for this device, however, as Mr. Brisbin stated, check with Jim Steinmeyer.
When I decided to go with this method for a particular illusion, I simply left it up to the builder and the results were fabulous. |

for effects like this that require perfect engineering and smooth working with stage traps and elevators i suggest talking to reputable builders like Bill Smith magic Ventures.

I totally agree with MopKrayz...these builders are experts in this, have done it before & will have no problem engineering something like that for you. It will cost a little more, but the end results will be WELL worth it.

The Complete Jarret by Steinmeyer is a good source.

Remember the pedestal has to be sized to the assistant and will usually require a stage trap.
Check with Bill Smith and save yourself a lot of grief and money.
