I just bought this trick two days ago. Thank you team E.
First off, after watching the demo video (http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Revolution-Coin-Vanish.htm) I was floored, I tried thinking of every possible effect, a new raven, a gimmicked coin, I went nuts. So after seeing its trick, I couldn't believe it. It's very simple. Any beginning magician can learn this, and any hardend magician would love to have this in their bag. Pros: Not very angleish. Your hand covers most of everything, but, until you practice it, it's obvious what happens. Simple, a quick learn, and a GREAT dvd from team E. Cons: Sure it's sleeveless, but once you get the trick, you'll understand you STILL have to be specific with clothes, kind of annoying (I can't do this trick at work because of my uniform) In irightis world, this is a (*)(*)(*)(*)( ) 4/5 star effect! |

I have had this trick for a very long time.. Its a killer!
A lot of magicians don't like it though because of the method. Its very clean you place a coin on your hand rub it in a small circle and its gone. It can be done delibrately and slowly. If you are looking for a coin vanish that's gimmickless and leaves you clean this may be it! |

This vanish is very nice but the clothing restrictions turn me off a bit. Especially for paid gigs wear you have to dress nicely. Most dress clothes wouldn't work for this.

I agree that it's a fine vanish, very deceptive, especially one-on-one, if you give it the practice. Wish the ads had been more clothing specific , but it's a bit of a problem, because if you're too specific you will tip the method. Oddly enough it's slightly remininscent of my own "The Last Ditch" published in MUM many years ago.
The good news is that it's fine for casual situations where your duds won't permit sleeving or cuffing. And the DVD instruction is very good. Best, Bill Taylor |

It's amazing to me how much I've read about this over the last couple years or so, and how much conflict of opinion there is. those who hate it hate it vehemently, but those who like it are sticking with it.
I'll never know, I guess, because I don't have the cash at the moment to purchase and find out for myself.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Got this trick a while back and its a fine addition to your coin vanish repertoir.
Clothings not too much of an issue. I'd hardly consider myself the height of fashion but quite often wear the kind of clothes that would suit this effect. Great job Kevin and the team at Elusionist !!! |

Are you just buying the DVD that teaches you how to do basically sleight of hand with a coin? I'm in a wheelchair with arthritis in my wrists, so I can't do sleight of hand. I guess this effect wouldn't be for me?

If you r in a wheelchair revolution will be impossible.try a raven that might be more comfy

...nor if you typically wear business attire. Great vanish and method! But I will never use it due to the "restrictions". People under 25 or so (ie: college and high school students), probably won't have this problem.
Nonetheless... it is a beautiful vanish! Sean |

Great vanish. I was performing at the bar, and one of my customers requested I do some coin magic. I don't have much coin stuff in my repertoire, but this one really hit them hard. I've been thinking about how to integrate this into a short coin routine. It's a great way to get rid of gaffed coins, so I am thinking about using it for that purpose.

Is this better then the Raven? What do you guys like to use more? What's easier to use?

That's a toss-up skitch.
The raven, can be used for ALOT more than just a coin vanish. This is more or less, a small item transposition and vanish, and sadly, it IS impossible in a wheelchair. The raven is not too expensive, so check it out! You'll love it! |

When I first saw the trick, it reminded me of Fred Baumann's "Magician's Dream" gimmick. This was a very clever idea and the type or style of the pants didn't matter. The effect and illusion was exactly the same.
You just tucked this little something into the front of your pants. |

Is there a reason why it's "Impossible" in a wheelchair? I mean why does someone have to be standing? I'm not looking for a tip on how the effect works but, if the Raven basically accomplishes the same effect and more yet can be done sitting down, why not this?
I was also thinking about buying The Black Widow instead of this effect actually, what you think?

Hi SKitch,
A friend of mine owns The Black Widow. I've been practicing with it and think it's fantastic! Yes,you can use it sitting in a wheel chair. To answer your question about the Revolution vanish, the METHOD require's a standing position. Btw, I'll be purchasing The Black Widow shortly...it's incredible! Gigi |

Black Widow is cool, but there are clothing restrictions with it as well.
