Hi,
I have just ordered the DVD from a magic site and also the scotch and soda. I was just wondering how to get the best out of these items. I'm very new to magic. thanks |

Hmm well, studying off the Ammar DVD will help you get the basics and some routines down. I've basically been studying off of that plus Bobo's Modern Coin Magic book. It will keep you busy for a while (it has for me anyway).

Check out some topics in the Show me the Money forum. This has been discussed quite a few times.
For starters, check out Dan's essay @ http://www.coinvanish.com/compare.html |

Marko,
Michael Ammar provides tips on using the DVD instructions on the DVD, so that is your best source for that information. Your Scotch and Soda set will probably come with a set of basic instructions. You might also want to check out booklets on Scotch and Soda at the site from which you ordered the coins. Good luck and practice patiently. |

I also have the "Complete Introduction to Coin Magic" video. I have found it an excellent compliment to J.B. Bobo's book "Modern Coin Magic." I have found that coin magic requires lots of practice. I recommend doing exactly what Ammar suggests and learning one effect from the video, mastering it, then trying another.
Magic is fun!!!

Collect all of Michael Ammar's DVDs. He is a great teacher, especially for beginners. He will teach everything to you with ease. Once you learn everything he taught you, reach out and learn from others.

I would recommend learning sleights from Bobo. When there is a sleight you are having trouble learning check, it out on Ammar's Intro to Coin Magic DVD. Once you have gotten good at these moves, start learning some routines from Bobo's. When you start to feel really confident with this stuff, check out David Roth's Expert Coin Magic and then Coin Magic by Richard Kaufman.
