I am teaching in Denmark on Street Performing next week but I intend to busk as well.
I use to live there when I was about 19 but then I use to sell jewerly on the streets. "Real Gold I tell you" Does any one no the score in regards to the Law out there for Busking? I will perform in Arhus and Copenhagan. After that I will be heading to Scotland. Both places are going to be bloody cold. Mario |

Mario,
You will need two permits. They're free, it just takes some time. Allow at least a few weeks. If you know someone locally that can help a lot as they can go down and submit the paperwork in person for you. One from the City (I'm assuming Copenhagen, don't know about Arhus) and one from the Police Department. The permit will detail the time, date, and location you are scheduled to perform. It's pretty simple, they just don't want conflicts between competing acts for the same space.

Be aware of angry store owners. On Ströget - they tend to think that buskers mess up their sailes. Try not to do to many shows at the same pitch - that way you will not get the police on you. I know a lot of friends who busk Copenhagen without permits - and aslong as you change pitch nobody cares. I've heard - though I don't know if it true - that the permit is worth nothing when a store owner gets upset and calls the cop.

That sounds about right. I don't know how to read Danish, but someone loosely translated my permit to say "It's okay with us, if it's okay with them..."
There are several good places that shouldn't impact businesses much. The "Kultervet" square is a few blocks off Ströget and gets a lot of foot traffic on the way in and out of the nearest train station. There are chairs and tables and a few drink vendors. It's a nice place for people to just hang out and enjoy the day.

Mario,
If you run into Jim Cellini tell him I said, Hi, thank you, and he was right! He will know what I'm talking about. Best, Dan- "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! Can any one tell me between how much is the norm you ask for in Krona?

In Denmark thay have 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 kronors as coins. (They have Öres aswell - but throw them ayay... )
11 kronors is about a pound. I'd ask for 20 kronors. The next step would be 50 kronors which is bills. Fat hats! /Ark

Also, the singular term is "Krone."(translates to "Crown") Plural is "Kroner." Although they're used to tourists getting it wrong, there is really no such term as "Kroners."
