They have a very good reason for the bulky machine and another good one to "try" to go through the guy. Then the "mistake" magic that makes it so hilarious even if we know what's gonna happen (us, but not the average spectator). Three thumbs up for the new Penn & Teller on the block! Illusions are hard to present the funny way and they do it very well. Chapeau.

That one was probably the best and dirty tricks was the one on youtube. Their special was showen over christmas and was something to do with stories from the bible. I didn't see it. I've seen them advertised on magicweek.co.uk for gigs in London. Search for them on the web Barry Jones and Stuart McLeod and I'm sure their websites will help you more |

I've seen these guys before and think they are brilliant. Their interlude just didn't grab me. Hats off to some original thinkers however.

YouTube is such a blessing....and a curse. While viewing this video, another one was "suggested" by the site, which was an expose of the very same illusion! I won't post the link, it ain't hard to find.
It just SUCKS that everything is being so easily revealed anymore. |

Barry Jones and Stuart MacLeod are the two-man magic act from the United Kingdom. They are also sometimes known as the 2magicians.
In 2005 Barry and Stuart hosted the Channel 4 studio magic show “Dirty Tricks” and presented the clips show “When Magic Tricks Go Wrong.” Most controversially they put together a TV special entitled “The Magic of Jesus,” in which they replicated Jesus’ alleged feats from the New Testament. In 2006 Jones and MacLeod put together a second religion inspired special called “Tricks from the Bible,” in which they mainly performed the miracles of Moses among other Old Testament events. Barry and Stuart's first television series "Magick" debuted on October 5, 2003. Dirty Tricks was a six part series hosted by Barry and Stuart. They currently live in London where they perform live together in comedy clubs. Website: http://www.2magicians.com MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/barryandstuart |

I really enjoy their work. A fresh approach to an illusion that tends to be performed the same way everytime.

It can be difficult to take a standard illusion and make a comedy effect.
I've performed in a comedy festival the Origami using... a spectator. Of course, she was a stooge and after some by-play, went into the routine. As the three swords were pushed in, I was commenting on her lack of feedback! Of course, she wasn't wearing a different dress at the end... It would have given away the fact that she was not just a spectator. The reaction were really good! |
