You can buy a ready made flash pot for a reasonable price. Here's one...
http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.php......p;page=1 If you are not sure about how to make one, I would suggest that you don't! The one at this link works every time and comes with complete instructions how to use it. Plus, you'll get a really good puff of smoke. Awesome that you are doing your first illusion! Make sure you invest the time to do it right and it will reward you for a long while to come. Good luck, Julian

There are SOOO many places who no longer any type of pyro..
If I were you.. I'd trade in the whole flashpot system for CO2 confetti launcher.. or even a CO2 powder launcher... where you use a bit of talc instead of confetti... Either one will provide good cover.. but CO2 cartridges are cheap and easy to find.. I can make you one as well.. with a long enough tube to the cartidge so that you can totally launch it yourself in a standing position.. |

Ooh yes, I like that idea even better. Actually, if you were to use silver mylar confetti, it would be a pretty cool effect.

Do NOT go with a Flashpot! Just like Makeupguy said, there are so many places you won't be able to use it.
You might want to think about adding a front curtain to your flash appearance, so that it can be closed and then opened for the production. Just in case the confetti cannon doesn't work, you'll still be able to do the illusion. |

Excellent feedback guys, I really appreciate. I will think about the methods as I build the illusion. No matter how many times you see a flash appearance it looks cool. I hope this works out! Fredmoore you say there are so many places I couldn't use a flash pot? Is this because of fire restrictions?-unsafe practice?

Something new being explored is the use of projected flashes and explosions to replace pyrotechnics on stages. If you have a video projector, PM me and I'll go into it in more detail, but it is a waste of time explaining it to someone who can't use it because he or she lacks the technical hardware.
