Let's say you go to a lecture, you take notes on what is being shared. Perhaps you buy the performers lecture notes or items they have for sale.
Or you do not buy any of the items and just go by your own notes and construct the items needed to perform the routines/effects. I have been to many lectures where items needed are explained and the option is given to buy it, or make it yourself. Is this good or bad? I'm all for supporting those who share with others. But sometimes, it may be cheaper and easier to do it yourself when possible.Or the case might be that you just don't have the $$$$ for the notes or items and you go the do it yourself route. I (as someone who does lecture) feel that it is ok to make it yourself, as long as it is something that was "taught" at the lecture, and as long as you attended said lecture.
I have seen lecturers "demonstrate" things that they wanted people to buy during their lecture. But if the instructor teaches you how it works and how to make it you are fine.

I think its a general assumption that if you have 20-30 to spend to watch and 2-4 hour lecture, that you also have the money to buy their products.
Most of the products that lecturers sell are notes, books, and dvds. But sure, you can make whatever you want. I think that's the lesser of important issues, |

Thank you all for your input!
It's not that I have never done it, I was just giving it some thought. I'm about to start practicing and making the the items needed for an effect I saw at a lecture a few months back. As it is also a marketed item, I felt a twinge of guilt. Thanx everyone, Ichazod |
