There's a great comparison of the Wii to the Playstation 3 at:

Watch those exclusives, Sony has lost a huge number of them lately due to lack of competence. Unless they are a second party developer nothing is set in stone. Square Enix has already shown they have interest in other systems.
Btw, 12 hours to go! |

The launch here in NYC at our main Toys R Us was waaaay plentiful. Well over 5000 units, I heard rumor of 7 to 8 thousand at the Times Square store alone. Long wait but easy to get.

I hear the Atari® will be fantastic!
You can hook it up to your television. It has audio.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

So I got one, it only entailed a 5 hour wait at a local Best Buy on Sunday morning. Aside from the last two hours when it rained, it wasn't that bad. There were a lot of good ppl to talk to, to help pass the time.
I've played games most of my life and it was still weird picking up a Wiimote. The interface takes you a moment to get used to, though it begins to feel very natural really quick. Wii sports comes bundled with it and is a great choice to get people used to the controllers. It took my son a little while to get used to the concept of it, but he picked it up really fast and was beating his mom in baseball soon after. The game itself seems more like a proof of concept, it shows the potential of what a developer could do if they picked this up and ran with it. I picked up Zelda as well and though I've only had limited play time with it, I can already tell it is going to be epic. The learning curve on the controls for this take a bit longer, but once down, feel really comfortable. If any of you our audiophiles than you're gonna love the music in this game. If you've been on the fence at all about getting one, do yourself a favor and just dish over the cash, it's worth it. |

I'm content with my ps2, DS, and Super Nintendo, even with only like 3 or 4 games on each. I'll just wait til friends get these, and crash in on their places and play. I'll save over 600 dollars!

Heh good plan, but the Wii does double as a Super Nintendo, NES, N64, Genesis, & Turbo Grafix 16.

Well, G4's "The Feed" just announced that someone cracked a wide screen television trying to use the Wii controller when it slipped out of his hands.
Also, the bugs have begun to pop up. Only in a "limited" number of units, but still I'll wait just a bit.

That situation reveals two things:
1. The Wiimote construction must be pretty solid if it broke the TV instead of itself. 2. The guy had to be an idiot to do something like that. In the time that I've played I've found that the strap is more of a safety measure for everyday purpose. Even when I am swinging hard in baseball or golf, I keep a solid hold on the controller, thus no tension is put on the strap. This guy had to be letting go of the remote like a moron. |

Well the wiimote slipping out of someones hand is their fault.
1st rule of the wii, Always wear the wii strap, even though it doesn't always stay adjusted you got something to save the wii mote even though it's really sturdy. I played the wii for about an hour at gamecrazy because nobody wanted to play and I don't see how somebody could make the wii fly at mach speed to crack a television screen unless they are careless. I always hear about stories of the wiimote flying out of a person's hand...it's the idiots fault. |

Oh, I never claimed the controller breaking the TV was the fault of anything but the idiot using the machine. (Mind you, it'll probably happen at my house. My kids tend to play without always thinking through the implications!)
The system locking up though, I'll wait and see what happens. *cy* I <know> I'm going to end up getting a PS3! Maybe next year or so after they start showing up used at EB Games!

Zelda(the game that never fails to give me magical inspirations)& FFXIII Versus(from the developers of KH!)makes it impossible for Sora to avoid purchasing both Wii&PS3!! Arrrgh, Sora wants to buy more magic! But he just can't help it!!!
BTW, my name Sora DID NOT come from KH! |

Since you call yourself "Sora," and are from Japan and the makers of KH, also from Japan chose to call their hero "Sora" does the name "Sora" have any special significance?
Incidently, Nintendo has just announced they will replace controllers for people who have had their straps snap off during play. Maybe the "wide screen television" incident mentioned earlier <wasn't> the fault of the user!
