There doesn't seem to be a release date given, however.

I own Pyro Perceptions and just picked up TDB the other day. In my opinion, Third Degree Burn is the way to go. If you want, you can use it exactly like PP and force a particular card. If you don't want to go that route, you have the entire deck at your disposal. As others have mentioned, it's basically like having an invisible deck without cards.
Another thing that sets TDB part from PP is the material that comes with the package. There are no corners cut whatsoever. With PP, I think I got the gimmick with a paper manuscript. With Third Degree Burn, you get the gimmick, a professionally printed manuscript, a DVD, and a second booklet with lots of different presentation ideas. I also think the blisters you get with TDB appear a little more crisp. |

Two pence worth:
I own both and generally use TDB but no one seems to have mentioned that the lack of bevel to the edges of the symbols on the TDB make poorer looking blisters. My PP blisters look superb and last longer. The other thing to think about is that to select any particular card on the TDB takes quite some time in comparison to the PP which only gives you four choices. That means if you lack confidence with patter or think it looks a little rude lounging about fiddling in your pocket the PP may be the answer. If you're table hopping in low light, perhaps PP is the way to go. But in the end the TDB is self contained and awesome so is better for "impromptu" moments of astonishment. Thinking about the gimmick that fits a bic lighter with no "pocket work" for Branded, I'd imagine your choces will be extremely limited, though may look more natural. |

I'm just going to take some electrical tape and tape over the other three Pyro blisters I don't use.
That way the pocket fuss is minimal. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that before. Making sure I have the correct blister was the most time consuming aspect for me. I'd set it up in my pocket, but sometimes it moves around. So I'll just put tape over the other three. I never repeat this trick anyway. I've never used Third Degree Burn, but I believe in the 'keep it simple' philosophy. I'd much rather force a card then have to calculate and fidget in my pockets. |

Go to http://www.brandedmagic.com to read all aboout the latest innovation in this plot. It has advanced it to where you no longer go to your pocket to use the gimmick. You can download the instructions on the site to see how ingenius it is.

Thanks Chris. I just read the download. It sounds like this was well thought out.

Third Degree Burn and Pyro Perception are fine effects. I just didn't feel comfortable ( and wasn't good at it ) of going in the pocket. That's why I'm so excited about Branded.

I use pp all the time. I never go to my pocket either. I wear it. I have a fishing line, and wear it like a charm on a necklace. I have it about 2 inches above the bottom of my shirt. I can easily stand right in front of spectator with hands holding cards, sharpie whatver in front of me and handle the business without any suspicion. I have actually wrapped it around my neck and one arm where the pp hangs by my waist, just out of view. I hold the cards or whatever in same hand and put hands on hips and do it. I usually forget I have it on and am nearly guaranteed to never lose it. I would hate to lose a lighter, easy to do, like my super sharpie that is someplace. I also like my method because it does free up more pocket space too.
I know the premise of TDB and it sounds nice but this is so easy. It takes about 4 minutes to learn what you need to know. Unless you are planning on doing it 5 times in a row to the same person or group of people, I would save yourself 30 bucks. Donkey
