Also check out the David Williamson vanish/reproduction with a coin in his book. It is wonderful!

Thanks....I also found help with a Brad Burt Video on his Spellbound tape. The Goshwin's vanish can work into a pinch that hides a coin were well, in fact it incorporates nicley into a spellbound routine. At the same time you vanish the coin ala Goshwin you can do a wave and produce an indiffrent coin

Spydur, David Williamson himself talked about that vanish and how it was just kind of an add on and felt bad about putting it in the book. It's great yes, but useful... not sure

David Roth also has an interesting half dollar production/vanish that starts from just placing a single quarter into your fist. It's called Magic Mint and it is an offbeat use of a folding coin.

Bobo's book has the original "biting" of a coin which David Blaine used in his televison shows. I was impressed with the audience reaction on this. What we sometimes take for granted can actually be pretty strong for the laymen.
I also like the use of a folding coin to penetrate a ring (using a slk hanky). Roth published several " folding coin" related effects in Expert Coin Magic that you might find interesting. I have recently started to pull out a lot of my old gaffed coins and started putting together some new routines for them. It's been fun to re-invent some of my old material and come up with new twists on old favorites. Have fun with this and please let us know your thoughts. I am interested in what you come up with. |

SPEED,
I have used the vanish many times in a restuarant type setting i.e. where people are seated and I am standing and it has been very useful. I am wondering what the context that Mr. Williamson "felt bad" about. To whom did he feel remorse Roth or the consumer or someone entirely different? JT, If you are talking about the French Pop move it is explained as an upward toss, not a forward toss in TOOC. Have a joyous day! C |

See "The Magic Mint" in Bobo, p. 289
Also, this gimmick is the basis of the "Coin Producing Wand", I always thought this was sort of hokey, but the right performer might be able to breathe some life into it.
Woke up.
