Similar to Sankey's effect.
In short, a card from a different colored deck is shown to be reversed in the deck. A card is named and when the cards are fanned, the actual cards do not match, but the writing on the reversed card states what card would be selected. After making up this deck, it sat in my drawer for awhile. I think I have come up with a funny presentation. Let's say they name the 6D. I miss, exposing a 5H. After complaining about how much the trick costs and that I'll have to get a refund, I notice on the back of the card case there is a note from my wife. You read it out loud, and the spectator can look over your shoulder! "Honey, I noticed you left a red card on the kitchen table. I turned it over and something did not seem right about the 5H, so I left you a message on it for you! I hope you do not mind. Love, Lisa PS- STOP leaving your cards all over the house!" To me, this gives justification of why something was written on it. You can joke/patter to guys about how they can lose their keys and their wife knows where they are! Etc.... RESET is very fast, and it is a great table-hopping trick. |

This effect is called the "Gobsmack Pack" from "Richard Sanders Show", and it is a seriously good prediction effect with a pack of cards. It's similar in nature to Jay Sankey's "Just Name It," and what with them being such good friends, it makes me wonder who came up with the idea first. I personally like Sander's routine better. I never use it, though, just because I don't like carrying extra decks when I'm working; I do everything with an ordinary, examinable deck.
