That shoud work through the earphone and aux input, but not with the remote control. Also with your zen, this Boom Box can inport 20 track from your zen. At least that is what the instructions say. It can program 20 tracks. So if your Zen has 5 programs each with up to 20 tracks, just program the the group of tracks need for the show you are going to do, other wise this box just plas the trach you tell it to from your Zen.

There is a little portable car CD player by Panasonic, model no. SL-SX282C. It uses a nice little remote, and runs on 2 AA batteries. I use it often in my shows. It is no longer available, but they turn up on ebay every now and then. Best of luck, Jeff

I have the Panasonic unit with extra remote FS, brand new in package, never opened. It is a spare. I bought two and the first one is still going strong.
PM me and I will give you a great price. I love the fact that the IR remote is tiny and can control volume, track and more. The extra remote will come in handy to build into props. While you need to be line of site, I have been over 20 feet away and had it still work. I can also suggest some products that convert to RF but never needed to use it. |

That's the exact one I'm talking about, Dennis. I've been using it for about a year now, and it works great for my needs. Haven't seen it on ebay in awhile, and it's listed as unavailable at that amazon site, but it's worth watching for as they do turn up on ebay every so often.

As I said, I have one FS still in package. These sold for $60 when new. I will sell it and an EXTRA remote for under that to the first taker. Photos available. How about $45 plus shipping. That is is a steal. Extra remotes cost me $11 each. YOu can do some cool things with more than one remote. Total value is $71 for only $45 plus shipping. This is still sealed in the blister pack and the extra removete
PM if anyone is interested. The other one I bought has worked for a few years and is die hard so do not need the spare I bought. I use it in the portable unit I just finished building and the anti shock buffer works great. No worries that the vibration from music or movement will stop the player. It just plays without skipping and the remote is impressive for its size. What I do is set the volume to say 19 or 20 and then set my PA. This allows me to control my volume from the remote. If I need a little more the remote goes to up to 25 or if I want to fade it I can do so as well. You really will be surprised how much you can control with a remote so small. You can also program an order into the CD player if your tracks are not cut per your show. The remote controls volume, mode, stop, play/pause, track forward and track back. I will also tell you how you can open these up and attach wires so that you can contol some features with a belt pack or reed switch so you can do it hands free. I put one on a magic wand so when I point the wand at the player it appears the wand is making the music. I also put one in a table aiming towards the player so that when I pick up an item I can stop. pause/play the next track and no one notices I pushed the button. For anyone else I have one left after the one that goes with thise offer. I bought a box of these to experiment with so why I had spares. For someone who has this gem of a player it can not hurt to have a spare as well. Sorry for any hard sell. I really like it and find it much more usable and less complicated than all this Ipod/nano adaptation many are doing now. Sure RF is cool but honestly, it takes a long time to make hidden buttons or pocket button pushing look invisible. You can do something similiar with this set up just by turning and walking towards a table while palming the little remote in your upstage hand. OR is sleeved you can put one on a hold out to deliver it to your hand or a piece of elastic that retracts it up to the cuff but you can still pull with twist of the hand. Can you tell I played with these? I did convert one to RF with an extra device. I found a smaller one than the one that looks like a pyramid. For the effort I found the IR to be more reliable! As others have said, it is a great unit and does much for under $60. That is cheaper than a shuffle and with the Panasonic unit it does much more. MG |
