9.8 on the richter scale would be a very bad day for who ever lived near the quake. that would be total destruction for all human built structures. I am actually a little more up beat than to look for such a terrible event.

Vandy got it early on. Nine point eight meters per second squared is the acceleration of gravity on Earth.

The late great Bill Gaines, publisher of Mad Magazine, had a license place that was the id number for the Graf Spree (spelling wrong but I'm refering to the zepplin) as Bill was a balloon enthusiest. One person recognized it for what it was in all the years he had it and it thrilled him to no end.

We're not allowed such plates in the UK, they have to conform to the standard pattern.

Paul Danniels has MAG 1C apparently

If you were able to have personalized license plates in the UK, here would be some great ideas for some well known brits:

Paul McCartney - DVORCED

Mick Jagger - BIGTUNG

Elton John - FLAMR

Madonna - WAN2B BRIT

Simon Cowell - RUDE1

Yesterday I did a double take when I read a plate, on a mini-van, as M S CRAPIN. It became clear to me when I saw the graphic on the side that read Michelle's Scrap Book Parties.

At first I thought this meant the plate owner was having trouble with their Windows operating system.
