About two years ago I ventured accross a site for the Magic Anarchist.
I must say that I really was inspired by the philosopgy and aproach to magic presented by Mr. Jim Cole I saw magic anarchy at work in some sort of capacity on T.H.E.M. I enjoyed the magic and presentation but the "you're on candid camera" moments erked me. The Magic Anarchist site seems to be gone. I regret that I was not able to finish reading the whole thing before it went. Does anyone know Mr. Cole and if he intends to bring the site back or perhaps publish it's contents. In my opinion Magic Anarchy and Bizarre Magic are fantastic together and sometimes one in the same. I recently learned from Mr.Palmer's post the Bizarre Magic was a rebellion to the popular magic at the time. Magic Anarchy is also a rebellion of traditional magic/street magic in order to bring back the wonder of the art. I am one of those who performe Shock/Geek magic and yes I consider myself a Bizarrist. I do apologize that what I do sometimes falls outside the "definition" of Bizarre but perhaps I am just too open minded in my beliefs that magic is an art that evolves and the semantics of labels to define an art can be counter productive to the growth and prosperity of it's future. I do agree that it is very important to research the history and honor the roots of Bizarre magic and I thank this forum for educating and enlightening me. If anyone knows more about Magic Anarchy please let me know. I look forward to learning from you all. |

I spent about two years supporting the Magicanarchist site, unfortunately there was a very limited number of intellect there, and most performers were Blaine wannabe's, who were not interested in progressing the art form, They just wanted to know howiedidits. I think jim returned to his previous profession and just gave up maintaining a stiffled site.
My mom says I'm reprehensible, I think I'm perfectly hensible.

Hmmm sounds like a good idea.
First I would have to get the blessing of Jim Cole. I have no idea how to reach him. Second I would have to figure out how to make a site! I think I could do both. |
