How you make a bag depends entirely on what you are using it for.
The flat bottom of the bottle is not really an improvement over the Kozak gimmick. The Kozak gimmick has a flat bottom as well.

Correct. It does have a flat bottom. It looks like Riser's got some improvement beyond that as well from pix I saw from Riser on the ganii forum.

I like Jim's new gimmick. I have a couple of his earlier ones that were more like the Benson gimmick. They were a bit harder to use.

You should see the new TWO ENDED gimmick for a second load that Porper just came up with. It has DUAL VALVES and you can turn hand over and salt keeps flowing from top of hand, then back and forth if routine warrants it.

Don't forget that Tommy Wonder's cup bag was essential to his routine.

My favorite bartender saves velvet liquor bags for me (Crown Royal has the best). No cost to the bar or me, and I use them to store the cups, balls, wife's jewelry and other sundries.

Here is the bag I currently use for my cups:
http://www.theambitiouscard.com/aItem.cfm?itemid=3 It keeps it's shape after the cups are removed which allows for things to remain in the bag and still remain innocent looking.

Frank,
I must say, the bags you provide are First Class. I have a couple for Cups and one for Dean's Box, and this evaluation is based on personal experience. Best Regards, Bill Sutter |

Frank :
I'd like to echo Bill Sutter's praise. I received some of your bags as part of the purchase of several sets of cups from another collector a few months back. The craftsmanship is quite exceptional. I especially like the harlequin leather bag (black and white diamond cut)made for jumbo size cups. Fortasse |

This topic, to me, is about broadening the thought processes to consider other options for using a bag as an essential part of the routine. You are still in the storage and transport mode of thinking. These other uses might well require a very flexible bag rather than a stiffer padded bag. Options really should be left open - if original uses are to present themselves. Perhaps Magic Café users are not ready for original thinking? Tisk, tisk. Jim |

I think all present are well aware of both the ins and outs of bag usage.
I'm not even sure I'd call either of those original thinking anymore. They've been in use for many decades. Somehow I got the impression you were criticizing the bags for taking up too much room due to padding and for being essentially useless during a routine. Only good for storage and transportation. Since I didn't agree with either, I didn't want to leave people with that impression.

Frank,
I agree. One needn't look any further than Tommy Wonder's books and videos to see the devastating concealment potential of a bag. -R |

I usually just carry my cups and balls in a small drawstring cloth bag, it keeps them scratch free, but what I did to help the banging up was lining up the inside of cups and the bag with velvet. It takes up time but it's well worth it.

It's easier to build a new back from scratch than it is to line an old one.

Hey Guys,
I think this is my first post ever, after being a member for years. Anyway- I use those fancy chalk bags that rock climbers use. They come in great designs and have a drawstring. If you play around with the bag a bit, you'll find that there are some interesting potentials to use the bag for more than holding the cups - productions maybe. I won't tip it 'cause I still use it, but it won't take a genius to figure out- Hey, I did it! I highly recommend those bags. Rich
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.

Depending on the size of cups you are working with, I've used a sunglasses bag in the past... It worked well and still held a professional look.
