There is an effect where you show a spotted scarf and then the spots fall of the scarf. You take some spots out of your pocket and the spots go back on the scarf.
What is the name of this effect and where can I find it?

One more...

Golf ball through the handkerchief - is this a dealer item? Where can I find this?

Thanks

First: "the spotted scarf (or hanky)" indeed
second: some dealers have it (also as multiplying golf balls)

I can't seem to find these effects. If anyone has a link I would appreciate it.

I believe Supreme magic had the routine for golf ball thru hanky but I imagine Supreme is no longer in business, right?

It's called "The Polka Dot Silk." Here's a source: http://tinyurl.com/y2es6y

The Golfballs you can find HERE: http://tinyurl.com/sg2gm but this is a complete golfball routine and I don't know if the ball through hanky is included. That was invented by L.L. Ireland and is found in Volume 2 of the Rice Encyclopedia of Silk Magic.

However, you can use a sleight of hand no-gimmick version found in most coin books; the coin through hanky move can be used with a golfball or other small ball of that size.

Thanks!

Has anyone experience with either of these effects?

Billy McComb recommended them in his book and on one of the professional touch CDs. Hence my interest.

If Billy recommended them, that's all the reference I would need, personally speaking.

Billy McComb used the Ireland set of Multiplying Golf Balls to develop his ball through silk routine from the early 60‘s. It has a metal shell and is bent a little out of round to hold the ball through the silk.

One cannot do it using the coin through hank ploy. At one point in the routine the silk is held out flat by its corners to show the ball half way through both sides. The ball is then placed over one hand and the silk is pulled right through it leaving the ball sitting on the palm of the hand.

In Mr. McComb’s hands it was a nice interlude. The routine is on the Billy McComb tape sold by The International Academy of Magic.

By the way he used the other balls from the set as stoppers for his shot glasses that he produced as the finale to his egg bag routine.

The spots off silk used to be a standard kids show item a couple of decades ago. I don’t remember what it was called (probably Spotty Silk). It can be fairly easily made along the idea of the black hand towel gag prop. Or you can buy it for $25.00 or at: http://www.magicgoods.com/SpotSilk.htm
