Hello...I was wondering what you all thought about this. I have a pop-eyed popper deck that also happens to be the same card on my CAJ deck 51 on 1 card. I was thinking about doing a short routine with the PEP deck, using an affinity for that card theme, bring in a normal deck and have them choose the same card, sign it, then do the card to wallet using the 51 on 1 card as the "red Herring" type with their card in the inner pocket, (mullica). Do you think there is too much going on, or a potentially workable routine?
As always, thanks for everything and take care, Patrick |

You may find better results from looking through the Gaffed and Funky section.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

Patrick, I think it seems like too much is going on. But I could be wrong. If you work out a complete routine, maybe you could post what you come up with? That would help.

Thanks, Kaylan...I am trying my hand at routining that seems logical, but it's a little harder for me starting out. I know sometimes less is more and clutter is confusing, but it just hit me as something to think about to see if it would work, or if it's too cluttered.
Thanks again. |

I think that routines that go on and on can be entertaining to the public, as long as there is simplicity inherent in the routining. Stringing effects together with too much going on can lose their attention, or muddy the magic. I always want to know whether the person I just did an effect for can tell me what they just perceived...in one or two sentences (I picked a card, signed it, he made it disappear, and then it re-appeared inside his wallet...as opposed to he had me pick a card, then he used a different deck for something, not sure why, then my card was on another card, or something, and then, um I dunno I think the card ended up in his pocket). The first example is demonstrating a vanish, and then an appearance in an impossible location. What is the second example of??? I know I'm dramatizing it a little, but I just like to keep things simple for the public. For magicians, well that's another story.

Thanks again, Kaylan...I think I was just excited because there were a few things that I could do that went together. Reminds me of Don Alan talking to his wife about watching the cups and balls...she got bored watching it. Looks like I'll keep things separate at this time.
Thanks again and take care |
