Hi does anyone know a weblink/book/DVD etc. where the coin roll with 2 or more coins is expained, please?
Bobo, Bill Tarr and Mark Wilson all say it's possible, but none of them actually explain how to do it! Thanks in advance, Maxim |

Maxim, there is a DVD available called 'Mysteries of Magic' produced by the Learning Channel, and on Volume 2, I believe, there is a clip of Jeff McBride talking about learning the coin roll with one coin, but then that wasn't good enough for him. He then demonstrates a coin roll with 4 coins simultaneously, going over and under his fingers, like a conveyor belt. Although he does not explain it, the DVD quality is very good, so maybe you can freeze frame it to get the positions and such. Good luck, and PM me if you need more explicit info. I can go downstairs and look for the exact place on the DVD it is located.

I bet no one explains it. The ones who learned it had to learn the hard way. They would like you to learn the hard way also. In other words you will have to put yourself thru full-time practice. And remember it can be done. Jeff McBrides makes four coins on each hand roll the same time. I hope you the best of luck.

If you can do one -- then you are halfway there to doing two (which is my max so far) concentrate on the balance and keeping fingers 'level' so the coins don't slide when you don't want them to and keep a consistent rhythm.
Good luck.

I think it was Richard Turner who did a 7 coin roll - obviously using two hands. He would load up 7 of the 8 "slot" and then the coins would begin their journey.

I thought that McBride explains the four coin roll on his "Coins, Balls, and Thimbles" vidoes. You'll have to check out which one it is. I know that he PERFORMS it on Vol. 1, but I think he explains it on another volume.

You don't need an explanation. If you can do one, you'll be able to do 4 but only after a lot of practice. You'll start out super slow and then get more confortable. Once you bring one coin under your fingers you pause while you advance the 3 on your knuckles. Give it a try. You'll see what I mean and with enough practice you'll have it down. Start with 2, then 3, then go to 4.

Man i have only just started on one, started practicing it last night and i can do it 3/5 times i go through the cycle, it's annoying cos when you stop you kinda of 'forget' what to do, not fully but when you just keep doing it and doing it over and over you get into a real sweet roll, then when (i) stop i kind of loose it..oh well i will just keep practicing...

If you look really really close you can see ixnay66 doing four coin rolls in both hands while driving.(In his pic.) Keep up the practice guys you'll get it. I hear Paul Harris can do two coins in each hand at the same time. Crazy!

Thanks for letting me know about the Jeff McBride vid, but I still can't believe there's no explanation of how to do it anywhere.
I'm having real trouble knowing when to start the 2nd coin rolling with the 1st coin already in the fingers. I'd love some help on this just to get me going. Maxim. |

I have been practicing coin rolls with a kennedy half but still in the learning stage. My main problem is bringing the coin back to the starting point with my thumb. I am sure the more i do it the easier it will get. Is the Keddedy a good coin to begin with?
Just out of curiosity, how small or how large of a coin has anyone used. When doing the multi-coin rolls do you use coins of the same size? Chris |

Johnny Ace Palmer does it on one of his videos too. Both are well worth buying.

It's just a timing issue. I can do 4 coins in each hand, not very fast because my hands are kinda small and I have to stretch my fingers out.
To do 2 coins, hold both coins between your thumb and index finger. Begin to roll one of the coins, when the first coin is on the middle finger, start rolling the second coin. When the second coin is on the middle finger, the first coin should be in between the pinky and ring finger, ready to be taken by the thumb to start the whole process over. |
