Hello!
I greatly appreciate the efforts of folks operating the Magic Café as well as those of folks kind enough to share their thoughts and expertise. Most of my performances to date have been the "Recycling is Magic" show I put together for my paying job at a university and for the Connecticut Recyclers Coalition. There are perhaps 8 or so magicians around the country who have a recycling-focused magic routine. Bringing a professional in every time we want to present to a school is financially and logistically unfeasible, however. Since I felt that as a recycling professional I can speak well to the recycling education aspect I went ahead and developed the program. Learning the more challenging tricks that demonstrate the "magic of recycling" has been challenging for an amateur like myself. On the other end of the spectrum, No Tear newspaper and Nielsen bottles are perfect components for beginners and really get an audience to understand the magic that recycling accomplishes. For more information please check out http://www.ctrecyclers.org/recyclingmagic.doc. Having done Celtic storytelling for years I try to make both the recycling routines as well other routines rich with story. I am developing a ghost-focused set of tricks for Magic Week. Hi there,
Welcome to the Magic Café! If you want to learn some cool colour changes, get the Showoff with Cards DVD or the Jeff McBride Art of Card Manipulation set of DVDs. The Showoff DVD isn't great, but it shows you the stuff and how to do it which is the important bit. The Jeff McBride DVDs are very good, but not as cheap - its your choice! Hope to see you around! Many thanks Magical Mark Watson (mark1991)
