Hey guy's,
Just got back from Atlanta and went down to underground were I was told that there would be buskers this time of year, but no buskers were found. When I checked around, I was told that the owners hired performers now (musicians) that they felt it helped keep the criminal element out. Also, it seems that there aren't any magic shops left in Atlanta. Anyone give an idea what's going on there? |

I've seen the same thing in other cities and towns, hiring musicians to play in front of the shop. Makes sense from a business standpoint because they get rid of the 'bums with props', 'thugs with props', and the simply untalented. Musicians provide a background sound for the shoppers rather than audience stoppage, and also the thugs without props are stuck in a situation where an acoustic guitar is not providing their preferred music and also a witness to outside activities. As for magic shops, Eddies in Decatur is a short drive from Atlanta.

Magic Masters used to have a shop in the Underground and another hidden in a hotel/conference center, and there was something in Kennesaw. (And, as far as I know, they are still there.) Shame about the buskers. They left 8 or so years ago. I saw Eric Anderson perform there. s |
