Twenty things Marlo Didn't Publish by Euan Bingham
Price: 10 english pounds http://www.magicden.co.uk Okay, so I am biased when it comes to Euan Bingham¡¦s publications. His books always get good reviews from me, and this is not just because he is a good friend, but the fact that he is a highly ethical writer (which is getting rare among the new big names) and a truly innovative cardician. Same as his previous book- More Derivative Pish, the writing format of Euan¡¦s new book is quite reader friendly. Euan enclosed descriptions that he considered to be standard sleights in a box, so that you won¡¦t be distracted by reading a technical description of the moves that you already familiar in the midst of learning a routine. There is a communication breakdown at the end of the description of long routines, this helps picturing the routine big time. However, up till now, I still don¡¦t quite understand his persistence of not illustrating his books with photos, that¡¦s probably his way to discourage those who are not serious card magic students. Despite the title, there are more than twenty things in this book. Quite a few items are the latest or expanded handlings of his previous published works, which is probably the only downside of this book. I personally am expecting more ¡§new materials¡¨ from him instead of variations (even though they are good variations) of his previous works. That said, you won¡¦t find any fillers in this book, everything is practical for real world performance. Euan¡¦s ¡§completely¡¨ new materials are, however, superb as usual. Among others, his solution of the ReCollectors plot is brilliant, his ideas and card problems are highly inspiring, Cards ¡§n¡¨ Balls for an example, and he is also offering an eccentrically named table false shuffle, which alone is worth the asking price of this book!!! Highly Recommended |
