Hi guys,
There is an effect that I am trying to find out about. When I lived in Germany my friend Brian Foley explain this effect to me, but over the years I forgot the darn thing. Yes, I wrote it down! But, I can’t find my notes from that time of my live. Live can be mean! The effect is to have a women stand facing away from you on the other side of the stage/room and you on the other. The woman is asked to close her eyes and you reach up and tap you own shoulder or arm. The people who are seated see you doing this. You ask the lady to open her eyes and turn to face you. You ask her if she felt you touching her. She will say yes. You then ask where on her person did you touch he. She tells you and also points to the area on her person! I remember that the work is done right before you walk across to the other side of the stage/room. But, I cannot remember the method to do this effect. I do remember that it is simple as heck to do as most great effects are. Does anyone know of any source that I may be able to find this routine? Best Ray |

Let me make sure I'm understanding this. The female volunteer touches herself the same spot the mentalist touched himself after she turns around?

I sounds like the effect you are looking for is Psychokinetic Touches by Banachek. This is widely available from all good dealers.

Or some very good handling with IT. That is what I use for remote touches (or as mentioned on another thread - my dog would do a remote lick). Check out Gary Sumpter and Sean Field's works in the area.

Actually, I believe that this specific presentation is in "shivers" by Gary Sumpter, but anyhow, the method is the same...

I sure will. Both effects that were mention above do sound like what I am looking for. Once I get them I will know if it is the same thing that I used to do back in the early 90's. Best Ray |

Actually after reading the reviews of both mention effects is seems that the method I knew was different!
The reviews on the Café stated that you really have to use story telling and practice to get it down. The method I knew was sooooo easy because what the person on stage seen and felt was different from what the audiences Believed they seen! (I hope this may help if someone knows this method) The method that I am talking about is very straightforward and right to the point! You position the lady as you talked to her for a few seconds and then you just walk across the stage/room and pause as long as you want without saying a word. Rub your shoulder, touch you arm or whatever you feel like touching (lets keep it PG-13) LOL You then can just ask the lady while she still has her eyes close and is still facing away from you if you have touched her and where and how many times. She of course will give you the answer! If you wanted you could ask her to open her eyes and turn toward you before you ask the questions. You can do it anyway that you feel best fits your style. No there isn’t any cueing and she is not a stooge. It was so darn simple that when my friend told me above it I stated laughing because it was too easy! Best Ray |

Thanks for all the input. This is what the Café is all about. Helping one another.
Through a PM my new found friend know the method that I was seeking. It was 100% the method that I wanted. Although this person did not post on this thread, I just want to tell him Thank you. I have been trying for a long time to remember this method. I have now made new notes of it and placed it on my computer also. LOL Thanks for all the input and I will also check into the other two method that were mention. Who knows I may be able to combine them all together. Best Ray |

Care to enlighten the rest of us? It sounds strikingly similar to PK Touches, but I'm curious as to how different this is. Can we get a title? The creator's name?

I don't recall who created it, but it is the similar in effect as PK Touches, but different in methodology, it is completely impromptu.
Sorry, but I won't say anything else on this until I can recall where it came from, I do not want to put forward something that is in my working act, and that may not be in the public domain. Tony |

Tony,
I can't think of any reason why PK Touches wouldn't be considered impromptu... |

I never said it wasn't. What I said was that the method in question is.

Tony,
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on this effect in your PM. It was the very same effect that I forgot the blocking to. I also think that this may not be in the public domain. I was just lucky to be in Germany when I was there many years ago. Right place at the right time! LOL Best Ray Noble |
