The second annual Dr. James William Elliott Card Challenge will be held on April 29, 2007, at 3:00 pm at the Hotel Harris in Rumford, Maine. The contest is a demanding test of card manipulation, with a new, sealed deck of unknown design given to each contestant, who has up to ten minutes to perform. The winner is decided by a vote of the I.B.M. members present. This year, the contest will be open to the public.
I.B.M. Ring 362, based in Bangor, Maine, is proud to host the Elliott Card Challenge in Rumford, the home (and burial place) of Dr. James William Elliott, a physician whose skill at card manipulation made him the undisputed card manipulator of the world. Elliott was a friend to Houdini, who edited Elliott's notes into a book titled Elliott's Last Legacy, published posthumously in 1923. Elliott was also an accomplished stage magician, replacing the first Bosco in the Le Roy, Talma, and Bosco show. He toured with the show for five years. Please see the complete contest rules for the Elliott Card Challenge on the I.B.M. Ring 362 web site. There is also a photo of this year's trophy, and it is a real beauty. Yours, Paul |

Is anyone here, who is not a member of our Ring, planning on competing? It promises to be a very interesting event!
