I was watching a Tommy Wonder video the other day, in which Max was in, talking with Tommy about this and that. And I started to wonder if Max's hair naturally comes to that point or if he makes it look that way, lol. Anyone know?

Mr Maven has contrived very successfully to have a look which suits his personna.
His widows peak is not apparently nature's creation, but his. Destiny |

When viewed in profile Phil's hairline resembles a questionmark. Possibly an homage to Anneman.
FWIW Cheers!

You know you're famous when people post on boards questions about your HAIR...
On topic, his hair is just a "subterfuge" of his persona... Make of that what you will...

If you look back at when he was the special guest here on the Café, he mentions when he began shaving it to look like that. You can also see from looking at pictures over the years that the point becomes longer as time goes on.

Definitley self done. Think of all the people you've ever come in contact with that had a receding hairline.....have you ever seen as wicked a one as Phil Goldstein's? Not likely.

Heard a nasty rumor from an anonymous sourse (E.B.) that Max's hairline started out contrived, but with time is getting more and more natural.

According to Max, he got his distinct look from Flash Gordon's 'Ming the Merciless', Annemann & Dunninger. He later learned that Annemann shaved his widow's peak too.
POOF!
