Hello my MD workers.
I just want to share an amazing Mentalism effect I saw with an MD. The effect was so simple yet very strong. The mentalist told spectator to pull out a group of 4, 5 or 6 cards. He then told the mark to think of one of the cards. The mentalist slowly started to reveal the other cards in his hand, until finally revealing the thought of card. So simple, the audience loved it. I'm going to try this one out as soon as I can. Any other thoughts or routines that involve mentalism and a MD? |

Seems like a stack and probably like a: Which card do you like best or Identify with. Millions of suggestions could be used. I just read on a magic wiki site about this effect seems like it predates even Robert Houdin.
Just found the link: http://www.magicsanctum.com/wiki/index.p......_Calling
I love magic!

This is available on many dvd's of Mentalism such as Richard Osterlind Mind Mysteries Vol 2. Think of a S* ST*****s stack and you will figure it out.

It also sounds very familiar to an effect by Darwin Ortiz called Liar's Poker which can be found in Scams and Fantasies

There are many methods to know the cards spectator took. (Eight way Force Deck will do nicely since you don't need to glimpse any card). But I can't guess how the performer guessed not-thought of cards, then thought of card. Maybe he used similar method to the method used in Mind Power Deck to narrow down the thought of card?

If you asked a spectator to cut the deck several times and then cut a small packet and think of the card cut to and then mix them, you could with ease name every card with the thought of card being last.
In fact you could do that with several people at once. But to answer Roberts question, I would say if the routine you saw impressed you that much then get everything Simon Aronson has put out as he has tons of mental stuff with a MD. All the best, Steve |

As mentioned in an earlier post, this is almost exactly an Osterlind effect, using his stack, which is brilliant! It's the only one I use/need.
Not only his stack principle, but Richard's 'peak' is worth the price of the DVD alone! And there's no end to what you can do with the principle. |

I think one of the most impressive mentalist trick with a memorized deck is when the performer is able to reveal the spectators chosen card without the spectators pulling out a card from the deck or mention the card being thought of.
Maybe a revelation like Invisible Deck but the REVELATION done BEFORE the spectators name his card out. It can be done but with a special routine. |

Armando Lucero has an effetc of this kind where he selects a card which happens to be the thaught of card by the spectator !!
